Attractions Near Europa Park

This museum, devoted primarily to unique, unusual or interactive art, is actually called the Zentrum für Kunst und Medientechnologie. Although there are a few more traditional paintings and sculptures, the Zentrum für Kunst und Medientechnologie focuses on showcasing upcoming artists and those works which would not be found in a classical museum or gallery. Even those who are not art lovers will enjoy the various films, videos and interactive ways that guests can experience the art. Conveniently, the building is also home to a modern art museum and the Karlsruhe City Gallery.

Karlsruhe Palace
Although the palace in Karlsruhe was damaged substantially during World War II, it was rebuilt and can be found just a short walk from the city center. The palace is available for tours, but the surrounding area is actually a popular place for locals to gather and spend time with friends. Enjoy the walking and cycling paths as well as the nearby gardens that offer free admission to all.

Cathédrale Notre Dame
Less than 30 minutes by car from Europa Park is the Cathédrale Notre Dame, an incredible structure that dominates the architectural landscape of the area. Built in the 12th century, the cathedral boasts one of the oldest cathedral towers in the world. Although simply admiring the cathedral from the outside is magnificent, it is certainly worth an interior visit as well. Of special note is the astronomical clock on display, which was a scientific achievement for its time.

Musée Alsacien
To better understand the history and culture of the Alsatian people in the region, consider a trip to this impressive museum. The exhibits do a wonderful job of explaining what life was for residents in the area 100 years ago and even 500 years ago.

Kalrsruhe Tiergarten
This zoo, located in the exciting city of Karlsruhe, Germany, is one of the top attractions in the area. Many families with children who come to the region to visit Europa Park will want to combine it with an outing to the Karlsruhe Zoo. One of the highlights of the zoo is the Lauterberg, an artificial mountain created in the middle of the park. Visitors can ride the tram up to the top, taking in views of the mountain goats that call the Lauterberg their home. Also of note is the lake, which visitors can picnic alongside. It is even possible to rent boats to explore the lake.
