San Diego Information

San Diego has been called the birthplace of California. Father Junipero Serra planted the first Catholic Mission in the valley. It became a center of economic prosperity and eventually paved the way for American settlement. Today San Diego, California is one of the most popular tourist destinations on earth. If you will be visiting the Southern California area soon, be sure to check out these amazing attractions before you leave.

Old Town San Diego.
The City of San Diego rebuilt the historical section of the town as it was hundreds of years ago. There is a replica of the Plaza and a vast array of authentic Mexican restaurants tucked away inside of cozy Casas. Visitors can browse through museums, shops and dozens upon dozens of street side vendors selling leather purses and imported goods from Mexico. Up the hill from Old Town San Diego is the Mormon Battalion Museum. At night, tourists can take a haunted tour of Old Town and glimpse a terrifying look at the world of the supernatural.

Embarcadero.
Downtown San Diego is beautiful. With a perfect view of the blue harbor, visitors can walk along the water's edge and view the sailboats and ships coming in and out of port. Tourists will also find amazing attractions like the San Diego Maritime Museum, which includes the Stare of India, the HMS Surprise, and the Berkley. Down the street is the USS Midway, which houses a massive museum full of airplanes and simulators. It's a fun treat. Seaport Village. Looking for a little shopping and cultural flavor? Seaport Village includes more than 30 shops and a nice seaside walkway that winds all the way through the Embarcadero. Enjoy bakeries, souvenir shops, street side artists and homemade jewelry makers.

Coronado Island.
You haven't lived until you've visited Coronado. Technically a peninsula, Coronado is the site of a United States Naval Base. Destroyers and fighter jets are constantly patrolling the island. The white sand of Coronado Beach is gorgeous. The Del Coronado Hotel is breathtaking with its white siding and royal red tower caps. Downtown is full of many unique diners, museums and ice cream parlors.

San Diego Zoo.
Don't miss this outstanding attraction. Browse hundreds of species of the world's most incredible creatures, like lions, tigers, monkeys, jaguars, elephants and gorillas. Interact with polar bears and feed giraffes. The park is enormously fun!
