Art Institute of Chicago
This is easily the best known and most popular museum in the city of Chicago, an impressive feat in a destination with more than two dozen world class museums. The Art Institute of Chicago has literally thousands of pieces of art, notably including American Gothic by Grant Wood and Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte by Georges Seurat. Although the majority of works on display are considered to be modern or American art, there is also large exhibit of French impressionist paintings and even archeological findings from Egypt.

Grant Park
This is considered by many to be the heart of Chicago, offering a respite to travelers and locals weary of the hustle and bustle of the thriving city. The park itself is large and boasts recreational facilities like tennis courts, jogging and cycling paths and picnic tables for a quick outdoor meal. Grant Park is also home to a number of art pieces and outdoor sculptures. Some of the most famous structures within the park include the Buckingham Fountain and the beautifully constructed Petrillo Bandshell.

Federal Reserve Bank Money Museum
To answer all your questions about making money in the United States, the Federal Reserve Bank Money Museum is the answer. Visitors can learn about exactly how currency is created, what happens to it after it is circulated for a decade and how to spot the difference between genuine currency and counterfeits. Not only is this museum interesting and educational for children and adults alike, but it is also free to all entrants.

Lincoln Park Zoo
Animals lovers will want to make time during their trip to Illinois to visit the Lincoln Park Zoo. Despite it being one of the finest zoos in the country, admission is free. Some of the best attractions within the Lincoln Park Zoo include the newly built ape house, home to primates of all shapes and colors, a large collection of penguins and even a farm themed petting zoo where children can touch and take pictures with all of their favorite animals.
