Six Flags Magic Mountain Information

Located at the foothills of a mountainous terrain in Valencia, California, Six Flags Magic Mountain Theme Park blends in perfectly with its surroundings. Since the grand opening on Memorial Day in 1971, Six Flags Magic Mountain has become one of the best theme parks on the west coast. The location within the Los Angeles Metropolitan Area makes the theme park a major tourist attraction. The park is divided into nine themed areas such as Baja Bridge, Cyclone Bay, Samurai Summit, High Sierra Territory, and The Movie District.

Six Flags Magic Mountain boasts more roller coasters than any other theme park in the world. Eighteen total roller coaster rides offer screaming and thrilling fun for people of all ages. Wooden and steel roller coasters offer classic and modern experiences that are matched at very few amusement and theme parks across the world. The Apocalypse wooden roller coaster takes riders for a 2,850 feet journey at high speeds and with sharp banked turns. There is plenty of other amazing high speed action available at rides such as Scream, Viper, Colossus, and Goliath.

At the Lex Luthor Drop of Doom, you can experience one of the world's tallest vertical drop rides, free falling from 400 feet above ground and reaching speeds of up to 85 miles per hour. The Green Lantern First Flight ride offers incredible twisting and rotating action for a true head over heels experience. Magic Mountain's Thrill rides have some of the most advanced riding effects not found anywhere else, not even at other Six Flags locations.

One of the top attractions at the Six Flags Magic Mountain Theme Park is the Sky Tower. The 38 story structure overlooks the entire theme park and offers panoramic views from the top observation deck. In fact, visitors can also enjoy breathtaking views of the nearby Santa Clarita Valley. There is even a museum featuring cool memorabilia at the very top of the tower.

Kids rides allow the little ones to enjoy carousels, giant spinning cups, mini trains, and mini wheels. Family friendly rides include bumper cars, mini boats and tubes on water, slides, and more. The nearby Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Los Angeles is a 22 acre water park featuring awesome water rides including a wave pool and a man made river style pool stretching for 1,300 feet. Additionally, Six Flags Magic Mountain includes plenty of shops, eateries, and even game facilities such as arcades.
